Some thoughts on Heroes…… February 17, 2007

1. Sylar is after powers. He absorbs powers by ingesting/sucking/something brains. So the first couple he killed on the show must have powers (not necessarily so as he may have made a mistake as in the case of Jessica) And considering he went after their daughter to the extent of breaking into the station, it is a fair bet to say that she has powers as well. So what powers, and what role will she play?
2. Assuming the previous couple were powers and they had a power offspring. Nikki and D.L. were both powers and their offspring’s a power as well. 1+1=2 as they say.
3. What did HRG want with Nathan in Las Vegas?
4. If brains is the key to the source of powers (see Sylar sucking brains and Claire regenerating onle AFTER the branch was removed from her head) and the Haitian’s powers affect brains, what kind of effect does he have over the other powers?
5. Who is Linderman?!

And so on as the radio plays every wednesday evening as we prepare for stand by bed.
Mambo was an essential part of the cleaning up process. She danced with a stranger in the rain as I twirled the mop around the benches and desks. It was not so much a sqaure room as it was a giantic hold seperated into managable compartments by curtains. It was my luck to draw the makeshift classroom as my area of responsibility but the radio was near and the music was loud and I fell in love with Donna Summers all over again.

A pleasant one none the less. After so many abortive relationships, my kan mei finally met that someone she is willing to spend the rest of her life with. She was one of my first really close female friend and someone I really care about deeply, even though I may not have been very diligent in showing it.
Anyway, her boyfr- excuse me, fiance, certainly pulled no stops in the proposal. Jazz band, whole restaurant and 1200 roses. He certainly sets a high standard. Never really got to know him, but she’s happy and that is all that matters. It is a very contented sort of relationship for her; nothing dramatic, a respite from all that has gone before. It was kind of sad not to be there at the engagement party, but it was no fault of her nor him so probably I will just blame myself for not being as involved as I would have liked.
That makes four. Who’s next?

Really lovely inside joke in this episode.
This is the car that Geroge Takei’s character got into at the end of the show:

Guess he’s going to boldly go where no Yamagoto CEO has gone before.

We actually won? Against Thailand of all teams?
I never really acknowledge the validity of the last two Asean Cup championships, without a win against either of the giants of local football. Mind you, this Thai team is not exactly the strongest they have field, nor for that matter did they play to their full prowess. If they did, it might have been a very different result.
Still, a win over them is still a rare enough one to savour, especially coming off as it did from a spectacular solo run into the six yard box, plus a sprinkling of luck with a rebound, resulting in a shot that the goalkeeper could only blankly follow with his eyes into the corner of the goal. Maybe this will really be the team to turn the tide and start making Singapore a force to be reckoned with in SEA football.
